Beautiful Inside and Out
GESE, 2009

I was staring at your pictures

and laughing at the oldest and youngest

as I laugh again in its loudest

you look so different

how far you've grown right now

that as I look at the present, I'm amazed

from being a caterpillar

growing into a beautiful butterfly

from a little, pity-looking seed

sprouting into a tree, so high

from a small sprout of plant

glowing into a full-bloomed flower

as the darkest of the clouds

pour out its cold showers

and i happened to pause and rewind

all the experiences you've shared

how proud and mocker you are

and how freaked out you are as you snared

radically you've changed

for the better from its worst, i dared

to prove to my eyes you're great

with all these wonderful things you possess.

as the usual thing with this disorder

that I have, I remembered

everything that we have gone through

i smile with tears inside, but for joy, though

how hard your heart is but can be pampered

how you fret over things but hopeful: rendered

how you smile over circumstances though painful

how rude you may act, but faithful

looking at those flicks

the way you project your smiles

as you pose, so silly, and I'll laugh

it just happened I suddenly whispered

you are beautiful inside and out. Ü
